Senior High Mission Trip to Baton Rouge
July 7-13, 2019
Get ready for a week of service in Baton Rouge, Louisiana! Youth entering 9th grade all the way through graduated high school seniors, are invited to participate in the annual summer mission trip. This year we will partner with the Louisiana United Methodist Conference long-term recovery program to repair homes damaged from the disastrous 2016 floods. The need for assistance and restoring hope to those affected is still great even two years later! The Rebuild focus is on hanging sheet rock, installing insulation, stabilizing floors, and replacing doors and windows. However, jobs often change as the project evolves and your team may be asked to do framing, finishing, painting or other construction tasks. Participants should prepare to be flexible. Mission Trip isn't only for youth. We want you too! Adults at least 23 of age are encouraged to participate in Mission Trip as team leaders. Many projects will require leaders with considerable construction knowledge, but volunteers at every experience level are needed. Registration deadline is June 17. $50 non refundable deposit is required. Cost is $425 for youth and $325 for adults and covers lodging, transportation, food, construction supplies t-shirt and programming. Contact Abigail Herrington for more information.
