CREATED BY GOD

A Study of Human Sexuality with a Christian Foundation

5th and 6th Grade

Created by God for 5th and 6th grade students introduces the cycle of human growth and development. Participation in this study will provide basic biological and developmental information, build self-esteem in the students, strengthen communication skills among older elementary girls and boys and between them and their parents, and introduce participants to the fact that their sexuality is an integral part of being human. Students will learn and practice using proper terminology. This course also provides a safe environment for students to participate in open discussions about human development, relationships, sexual health, and society and culture.

8th and 9th Grades

As students move into their time in high school, we will explore the sacredness of relationship and how God calls us to handle these relationships with the utmost care and respect. We hope to redefine what a healthy romantic relationship looks like as we examine the sacredness of sex. Along the way, we will have frank conversations about sex, dating, body image, social media issues, pornography, bullying, STDs, teen pregnancy, masturbation and contraception.

Next scheduled session:  March 24-25, 2017. Register here! For more information, contact Michael Manley.

11th and 12th Grades

As students prepare for life past high school, we will explore the sacredness of spirit and our own sexual identities—who are we called to be as sexual beings that follow Christ? We will re-examine how we look at ourselves and others as sexual beings and the ways God calls us to be gracious to others and to ourselves. Along the way, we will explore relevant issues of sex, dating, marriage, body image, STDs, sexual decision-making, gender roles, defining intimacy, healthy vs. unhealthy relationships and date rape.

Next scheduled session:  April 28-29, 2017. Register here! For more information, contact Michael Manley.
