Saturday, September 8, 10am-4pm, Keller UMC will host Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON) as they assist, with the help of volunteers, legal status immigrants in completing their citizenship packets. JFON will supply lawyers to review and check the packets free of charge. JFON is a National Ministry of the United Methodist church founded by the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) in 1999. The purpose of the event is to assist legal, permanent residents to apply for United States Citizenship. All applicants have been pre-screened by JFON attorneys to verify they have met the criteria to become U.S. citizens. Keller UMC will provide hospitality, assistance in filling out paperwork, making photo copies, donate refreshments and various other tasks for our neighbors attending the event.Volunteers assisting with the packet process and will need to attend training in Friday, September 7, 6:30-8pm. Nursery care is provided for these volunteers.
